San Diego River - Ocean Beach
Where do we meet?
We will meet at the entrance to Dog Beach in OB (where the bike path begins)
Directions
Will there be bathrooms available?
There are bathrooms further down the beach and at the skate park at Robb Field along the way.
Will there be water available?
There are water fountains at the parking lot where we will meet and at skate park at Robb Field along the way. However, it is a good idea to bring a small water bottle along.
How long is the hike?
We will spend about 75 minutes walking the trails and exploring the estuary, beach, and riverside beginning with some yoga to warm up, stopping intermittently for yoga breaks, and ending back near the parking lot for some final breathing and relaxation.
We will begin the hike at 10 am so please plan on arriving around 9:45 am and that you give yourself enough time to find the location.
Can I join my child on the hike?
Parents are definitely welcome, but not necessary. The walks/hikes are safe for children and there will be one adult for every 5 - 10 children depending on the age group. If you will be joining us on the hike I ask that you allow your child the freedom to socialize and explore. If your child is under the age of 5 or has special needs, please let me know ahead of time so that I can help you support them in this exciting outdoor adventure.
Will I be able to contact you while on the hike?
I will carry my cell phone with me in case of emergency. Please contact me if you will be running late for pick up. CELL PHONE 619-417-3311
What should my child bring?
My motto is "Leave only footprints and take only memories." I want your child to be actively engaged with their peers and submerged in nature, so I bringing as little with them as possible would be best. Click here for a list of possible items your child may want to bring.
